Request to register CCTV installations
Anyone who has installed CCTV on their property is being encouraged to register their system with North Yorkshire Police so that they can easily access potential evidence to help solve crimes.
The police have a new computer system which could greatly improve the way investigations are handled, and access to private CCTV footage could assist the success of the new arrangement.
The police already rely heavily on CCTV when investigating crime but having more knowledge about where systems are in place will be extremely beneficial and will help prosecute more offenders, more quickly. If you have CCTV, please read the leaflet here and consider registering.
