Correction
Unfortunately, owing to the speed with which the church authorities are having to organise events following the death of Queen Elizabeth ll, some incorrect information was given in the earlier email about service timings at St Columba’s Church.
It was stated that the “Declaration of the new King” would take place at 4pm today, but in fact this will take place at 4pm on Sunday 11 September, after similar declarations have been made in London and elsewhere.
The other details for today (9 September) are correct: the church is open now so that residents can call in to say prayers and light a candle in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. And there will be a short prayer service at 3.50pm this afternoon and an Evening Service of Compline at 7pm.
